Wat is het spannend om een boek te laten printen. Is alles goed aangeleverd, is het beeldmateriaal technisch goed en zijn alle fouten eruit?

Eerste boek is half juni geprint en bezorgd. Echt een cadeautje. De kleuren, het papier en formaat was zoals ik het voor me zag. Ik wilde het gelijk aan geïnteresseerden laten zien. Er kwamen goede reacties, vooral het formaat en de kleurrijke illustraties kregen lof. 

Bij de vijfde persoon, begonnen bovenaan, bij het eerste katern de pagina's los te laten. Elke keer met openen en omslaan liet het meer los, tot de eerste pagina eruit viel. Dat kon toch niet waar zijn. Gauw ging ik andere pocketboeken nakijken op de binding. Hadden deze boeken ook dit probleem. Ik kon  niets ontdekken, zelf niet bij advertentie brochures.

Ik heb het probleem voorgelegd aan Blurb. Het mailcontact verliep goed en er werd naar me geluisterd. Er werd een nieuw boek geprint. Wederom is er spanning. Er werden nog veel taalfouten en interpunctie fouten ontdekt. Ik ben dyslectisch, dus het verbaasd me niet. Fania en Leah hebben geholpen met redigeren. Het tweede gedrukte boek kwam en heeft dezelfde technische drukproblemen als het eerste boek.

Dat betekent een stop in het proces om het boek te promoten. Immers kan het niet zo zijn dat mensen een boek kopen en dit probleem krijgen. Leuk als je van plakken houdt, maar het boek moet stevig en duurzaam zijn. Nog eens contact gehad en nu wordt het voor de derde keer geprint.

Ik hou mijn vinger gekruist. Correctie in taalfouten doorgevoerd, nu het bindprobleem nog. Ze zeggen dat drie x scheepsrecht is. En weer is het spannend...

What is printing a book exciting. Is all well supplied, are the images technically okay and is the script without errors? 

The first book was printed in mid-June and truly a gift. The colors, the paper and size was as I saw it for me. I wanted to show it to those interested in the book. There were good comments, especially the size and colorful illustrations received praise. 

By the fifth person, the top of the pages, began to let go. With opening and turning the pages, the paper became more loosely, waiting for the first one to fell out. This could not be true. 
I went to check on the other paperbacks. Their was not such problem with any of them, not even with advertisement brochures.

Meanwhile, we discovered a lot of grammatical mistakes and punctuation. I'm dyslectic, so it is not a surprise. Fania and Leah helped with editing. The second printed book came and has the same technical printing problems as the first book. 

That means a stop in the process of promoting the book. Indeed, it may not be that people buy the book ' the seduction of moromoro' and have this problem. Fun if you like to tape and paste, but the book should be durable. Once again I'd contact and now it's going to be print for the third time.

Qu'est-ce que l'impression d'un livre passionnant. C'est bien fourni, sont les images techniquement correct et est le script sans erreurs? 

Le premier livre a été imprimé à la mi-Juin et vraiment un cadeau. Les couleurs, le papier et la taille était comme je l'ai vu pour moi. Je voulais montrer à ceux qui s'intéressent à la livre. Il y avait de bons commentaires, surtout de la taille et des illustrations colorées reçu l'éloge. 

Par la cinquième personne, en haut des pages, a commencé à se laisser aller. Avec l'ouverture et de tourner les pages, le papier est devenu plus lâche, en attendant le premier à tombé. Cela ne pouvait pas être vrai. Je suis allé vérifier sur les autres livres de poche. Leur n'était pas tel problème avec l'un d'eux, pas même des brochures publicitaires.

J'ai soulevé la question devant Blurb. Le contact de mail était bon et j'ai été entendu. Un nouveau livre était imprimé. Encore une fois, il ya des tensions. 
Pendant ce temps, nous avons découvert un grand nombre de fautes de grammaire et la ponctuation. Je suis dyslexique, donc ce n'est pas une surprise. Fania et Leah ont contribué à l'édition. Le deuxième livre imprimé est venu et a les mêmes problèmes techniques d'impression comme le premier livre. 

Cela signifie un arrêt dans le processus de promotion du livre. En effet, il ne peut être que les gens achètent le livre «la séduction de moromoro» et avoir ce problème. Fun si vous aimez de colle, mais le livre devrait être durable. Une fois encore, je voudrais m'adresser et maintenant ça va être imprimer pour la troisième fois. 

Je vais garder mes doigts croisés. Correction des erreurs linguistiques sont finis, j'espère que la liaison sera mieux aussi. Ils disent que trois X le charme. Et encore, il est passionnant ...

Bloesem en knopjes van de Detarium Microcarpum

De afgelopen twee weken zijn alle pagina's nogmaals doorgenomen. Dit keer om druk technisch tekst en beeld in de juiste formats, modes en fonts te zetten. 

Hier en daar ontbraken inleidingen, die nog erbij geschreven zijn. Achterin waren de bronvermelding op een hoop gezet en moesten uitgezocht worden. Alle linken van beeld, video en artikelen nakijken of het nog werkt.  

Appendix
De aanzet staat op papier, maar deze moet nog uitgewerkt worden. Er zijn meerdere technische tekeningen van de detarium microcarpum, maar je komt telkens op beeldrecht. Ik heb besloten om zelf een illustratie te maken van de bloeiwijze, bladeren en vrucht. Ten slotte heb ik foto's genomen van de meeste plantendelen, die als aroma bij wierook of het maken van 'pittenklei' als grondstof dienen of worden toegevoegd.

Boek in PDF
Als al het beeld in de juiste mode staat en de lagen worden weergegeven als in het lay-out, kan het boek gecomprimeerd worden in een pdf bestand. Dit bestand kan worden verstuurd om als laatste door lezers en kijkers te worden beoordeeld. Met de feedback kan de inhoud van het boek nog duidelijker worden gemaakt voor de lezers, die meer of minder met het onderwerp bekend zijn.
Het boek wordt ook bekeken door mensen, die geen Nederlands kennen. Hier is de beeldindruk doorslaggevend. 

Een eerste indruk kun je maar één keer maken

Finally, I have taken pictures of most plant parts which serve as aromatic ingredient in incense or to moromoro jewelry and pots.

If all the image are in the correct mode and the layers are displayed as in the layout, the book can be compressed into a PDF file. This file can be sent to readers and viewers to be evaluated. With the feedback, the content of the book can be made better ​​for the readers.The book is also viewed by people who don't speak Dutch. Here the impression of the images has to give an impression of moromoro.

Les deux dernières semaines, tous les pages du livre ont été examinées une derniere fois. Ce temps de contrôler si tous les textes et images sont dans les bons formats, modes et fontstype.
 Parfois les introductions manguent. C'etais nécessaire d'organise les références de la source. Tous les références vers les images, vidéos et articles sur l'internet avaient besoin d'un chèque, si elles travaillaient encore.

Annexe
L'annexe devait être élaboré. Il ya des dessins techniques de l'arbre de microcarpum Détarium, mais je dois avoir le droit d'utelise certain image. J'ai décidé de faire une illustration moimeme de la fleur, les feuilles et les fruits de l'arbre. Enfin, j'ai pris des photos de la plupart des parties de plantes qui servent comme ingrédient aromatique dans l'encens ou de moromoro bijoux et pots.

Livre en PDFSi tout l'image sont dans le bon mode, le livre peut être compressé dans un fichier PDF. Ce fichier peut être envoyé aux lecteurs et voyeurs à évaluer. Avec des réactions, le contenu du livre peut être amélioré pour les lecteurs. Le livre est également consulté par des personnes qui ne parlent pas le néerlandais. Iemand vroeg me 'Hoe is het met het boek?'
Een goede vraag en ik moet eerlijk zeggen dat er veel tijd overheen gaat. Misschien ben ik in de valkuil van het eeuwig redigeren gevallen. Dat houdt het maken van een boek op of het maakt je onzeker.

Nog een keer wil ik dat het manuscript gelezen wordt. Dit keer puur op de inhoud vanuit antroposofisch uitgangspunt. Het manuscript wordt gestuurd naar twee antropologen, die beiden verbonden zijn met West Afrika.

Speurtocht naar Marie Jose Opper
Ik ben ook op zoek naar Marie Jose Opper. Zij is de enige auteur, die uitgebreid over parfum sieraden uit Noord en West Afrika heeft geschreven. Het is best spannend, omdat ze niet via het internet te benaderen is.
Inmiddels ben ik lid geworden van Ethnic Jewels, waar ze ook lid van is en heb haar een bericht gestuurd. Het is wel ruim 6 maanden geleden dat ze Ethnic Jewel heeft bezocht. Wordt vervolgt.

Op deze manier heb ik ook getracht om in contact te komen met Adama Bah Konare, de schrijfster van Parfums du Mali. Het is me gelukt om haar dochter te bereiken, die het boekje heeft uitgegeven. Het mailcontact heeft geen kennisdelen opgeleverd. Er was interesse om het boekje te verkopen en daarna bleef het stil.

Jammer, want ik vind het belangrijk om mensen die al onderzoek naar sieraden en parfum in Mali en Senegal hebben gedaan op de hoogte te stellen van mijn activiteiten. Het gaat hierbij niet om mij, maar meer om de documentatie van een stuk cultureel erfgoed.

Manuscript 
Nu het manuscript zo goed als af is kan het framewerk worden ingevuld, de foto's worden bewerkt en de opmaak worden uitgevoerd. Deze stappen doe ik binnen de richtlijnen van Blurb, want daar zal ik het boek laten printen. Daarbij komt er een e-book editie.

Vertalen
Tot slot is fijn als het boek vertaald gaat worden in Engels en Frans, zodat de vrouwen van West Afrika, de artiesten, maar ook vrouwen die van moromoro houden, meer informatie kunnen lezen. Tegelijk kunnen andere artiesten, musea of green fashion ontwerpen inspiratie opdoen in plantaardige keramiek.
